Our phones are like compasses that navigate us through life. Most of us use them as personal agendas, scheduling everything from work meetings to workout sessions – including yoga. The convenience and frugality that many apps for iOS and android devices offer is often conducive to busy lifestyles.
I have come up with a list of yoga apps that will nurture your inner yogi, or yogini:
1. Yoga Studio:
You have to pay for this app, but it’s quite possibly saving you a ton of money in classes. Rated the number one yoga app for iPhone, it’s essentially a one-stop shop. Yoga classes from beginner to intermediate, this app also has detailed advice and instructions on how to achieve difficult poses and meditation. You can even customize your musical experience, either through your personal music library, or the app’s playlist. Classes can be customized, too. If you prefer more instruction, or the opposite, this app gives you all that you’re looking for and more.
2. Global Yoga Academy:
It may be free, but this app doesn’t skimp out on details. You can choose from workout sessions ranging from five minutes to a full hour, with information on fitness and nutrition guides. One of the best things about this app is that you don’t need Internet connection to download classes. If you’re driven by encouragement, this app tracks your progress and gives you achievement rewards.
3. 5-Minute Yoga:
Everything yoga in five minutes. I think that’s an instant-sell for any app that will give you asanas, sessions and a daily yoga fix in five minutes.
4. Down Dog: Great Yoga Anywhere:
Simple but effective. This app is for the on-the-go user who wants to take a moment and deep breathe, while holding their favourite asana anywhere. You can customize sequence type, level, and length, with a visual guide that allows you to downward dog, or cobra wherever you are. The app aims to keep things fresh, with consistently new content and yoga change-ups so that you never experience the same instruction twice.
5. Asana Rebel:
Feel like a rebel with this app. This app takes yoga to a whole other level by using it as a tool to achieve the body that every woman wants for herself. Users have their own digital trainers (by upgrading to a monthly subscription) who provide motivation, instruction and track your fitness journey. Its personalized experience will save you tons of money on personal trainers and gym membership.
