A cafe in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is revitalizing the drink to promote wellness and healing with these herbal brews.
The End Brooklyn has become a popular hot-spot for social media enthusiasts. Their infamous Unicorn Lattes have taken over Instagram and bulldozed through the hashtag world.
Walking into the trendy coffee shop, it’s pitchers of colourful water and a cooler filled with an interesting array of innovative drinks that will greet you.
You can drink them warm or cold, and they are recommended before a session of yoga or meditation because of their calming properties.
Just don’t expect them to be cheap. Each 12-ounce latte costs nine dollars.
There are many ways to enjoy the drink to see if it’s worth the social media buzz even if you don’t live in Brooklyn.
Here’s how you can make you very own unicorn latte:

It makes around 3 1/2 cups.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups raw cashews (soaked for 4 hours)
3 ½ cups filtered water
1 vanilla bean
2 ounces cold pressed ginger
2 ounces lemon juice
1 tablespoon Blue Majik spirulina extract
1 tablespoon maca root
3 Medjool dates
Spirulina powder, to garnish
Instructions:
- Mix at high speed in blender for 1 to 2 minutes until well blended.
- Serve warm or chilled on ice.
