If you’re going to keep threatening to leave the country over what is looking like less of a joke with each passing day, then you should consider finding a loving Canadian home…or a Canadian lover, perhaps? Luckily, Americans in fear of a Trump presidency can find a safe place to hide for the next four years with the website Maple Match.
“Maple Match makes it easy for Americans to find the ideal Canadian partner to save them from the unfathomable horror of a Trump presidency,” the site says.
All Trumpfugees and their Canadian saviors need to do is register on the website’s waitlist, which promises to “save [you] from the madness.”
Only a week after the website launched, its Texan founder, Joe Goldman, said that 13,000 people had signed up, most of whom are from New York City and Seattle.
“I have always been fascinated by Canada, so I thought to myself, ‘given the current political situation, this could bring Canadians and Americans closer together,’” Goldman told NBC
