American Bird Conservancy
ABC is focused on conserving native birds and their habitats throughout the Americas. Their dedication and unrelenting ambition has allowed them to get some pretty impressive results since their foundation in 1994. They’ve done a lot to safeguard rare birds, conserve habitats and reduce top bird threats. Give em your money!
Humane Farming Association
Farms can be a really rough place for animals, luckily the HFA and its 250,000 members are focused on safeguarding farm animals from cruelty and abuse. They protect the animals and consumers from misuses of antibiotics, hormones and chemicals.
Neotropical Primate Conservation
The Neotropical Primate Conservation works hard to preserve the habitats in Peru and the monkeys that live in them! They educate the public, perform land research and spread awareness in order to stop illegal animal trafficking and help save endangered species.
Wildlife Conservation Society
As one of the largest animal charities out there the WCS works hard to preserve wildlife and wild places all over the world. They aren’t afraid to fight against the government and they are dedicated to scientific advancement. Check them out and maybe give them a lil tax-deductible donation if you want the world to stay wild!
Operation Blankets of Love
Operation Blankets of Love works to provide help and comfort to animal shelters and rescue groups. This helps homeless animals get adopted. They also run anti-cruelty campaigns and education outreach to raise awareness about the importance of humane treatment for animals. Pretty cool.
Fur-Bearer Defenders
AKA The Association for the Protection of Fur-bearing Animals, AKA the next in a long list of fantastic charities. The APFA are working hard to end the commercial fur trade, which is a hefty goal. They started with the mission to search for a humane alternative to leg-hold traps and have grown from there. Their ultimate aim is to abolish fashion fur trade, ban the import of domestic dog and cat fur in Canada and co-exist with urban wildlife.
Marine Mammal Center
The Marine Mammal Center is looking to create a healthy ocean – for animals and for humans! They are a non-profit veterinary research hospital and education center that works to rescue and rehabilitate hurt and sick marine mammals. The ocean is fairly important, so if you want to give your money to a charity, you should consider the MMC.
D.E.L.T.A. Rescue
This no-kill sanctuary houses over 1,500 animals that were formally abandoned in the LA desert. Founder Leo Grillo and his staff provide food, medical care and love to the abandoned animals they come across. This unique operation could always use more funds – donate here!
Zoocheck
Wild animals are a beautiful part of the planet. Unfortunately heartless humans often feel compelled to take advantage of them by trafficking them, hunting them or exploiting them. Zoocheck works to improve wildlife protection through research, awareness campaigns, capacity building initiatives and legislative actions.
