How do you like your coffee in the morning? A splash of cream, maybe a dash of sugar. How about a dose of THC in your cup. Two very popular vices, coffee and weed, are joining forces to make your mornings much better. In March 2017 keep your eyes open for cannabis coffee, Keurig-style. BrewBudz, a San Diego-based company, is releasing single-use coffee pods containing THC.
BrewBudz will be offering decaffeinated versions of the pods, as well as hazelnut and french vanilla flavoured versions. For those opposed to coffee, but still looking for a THC-infused drink, the company is also selling hot chocolate and tea.
“Good for you. Good for the Earth,” is there motto, and for good reason. They were committed to finding a sustainable solution, as regular K-cups are awful for the environment, and they did it. BrewBudz created 100 per cent compostable pods. By using a compostable mesh, forming the ring of the pod form the skin of roasted beans, and making the lid out of compostable materials and inks, the pod is able to break down within five weeks of being properly composted.
More perks of drinking your THC instead of smoking it: no harm done to your lungs, it’s discreet, easily transportable, odorless, tasty, and socially acceptable. Sounds like the perfect drink to have at your next family reunion!
The pods will be sold for $7 USD each, and you have your choice of anywhere from 10-50 milligrams of THC in each pod. All of the pods are designed for Keurig use.
