There has been a growing trend among artists to use drones to capture soaring heights and new perspectives. Salty Wings is no exception to this new trend. They create stunning scenes of Western Australia’s coastline with drones and—uniquely—a trained eagle with a camera attached to it.
They say the best views in the world can only be seen by the winged creatures flying in the sky, and the bird’s-eye view from this eagle’s perspective is definitely something to envy. Photographers Michael Goetze and Jampal Williamson are Australian natives who have combined their passions for photography, the ocean and travelling through their company, Salty Wings.
“Aerial images are a form of art and a new perspective to see the world and our project is popular because it’s purely about Western Australia,” says Williamson. “It’s not about us, it’s about the landscapes.”
Western Australia is a pristine location for Salty Wings to capture their remarkable sights. It provides picturesque views of ocean coastlines, remote beaches, colourful coral reefs and soft white sand coves.
Their Instagram account has grown since earlier this year to an astounding 30,000+ followers. They also have a daily vlogging channel where you can follow their travels around Western Australia and an online store where you can purchase their full-sized commercial prints.
