Tomas Mähring is a freelance photographer, cameraman, kayaker and professional rafting guide, whose travels have taken him from Norway to Zimbabwe to New Zealand. In this photo-essay, Mähring took his adventure to Whistler, where his friend, a snowcat driver, gave him the opportunity to photograph slopes in Whistler after they had closed – and Mähring didn’t let the below freezing temperature stop him.
Whistler is located in British Columbia, Canada on the beautiful Coast Mountains, two hours North of Vancouver. It is a favourite destination in Canada, with two mountains for skiing and snowboarding, and a base village. It also has four championship golf courses, hiking trails, and an amazing mountain bike park. In the winter, the surrounding snow-covered mountains look almost too perfect to be real, like they’re straight out of a movie. The sun setting on the mountain peaks reveals rays of light and beautiful colours. Whistler, a fantastic resort, is also a spectacular place in itself.
