Is the sound of the coffee maker clicking ‘on’ the only thing getting you out of bed in the morning? For many of us, a cup of java is the fuel we need to make it out the door. However, there are many more reasons why you should be drinking coffee.
Coffee is no longer understood to be an unhealthy stimulant for us. In fact, studies show that the opposite is true. Although a cup of the good stuff doesn’t need to be a necessity in your daily routine, if you do enjoy coffee you should know it has more potential benefits than almost any other drink.
No, there is no right or wrong way to drink coffee, but there are ways to maximize its benefits. If you can’t handle the hair that black coffee puts on your chest, consider using alternatives to cream and sugar such as almond milk and natural sweeteners like cinnamon or nutmeg.
As human beings we run on a 24-hour hormonal cycle called the circadian clock. This clock dips and spikes in alertness throughout the day, with the first dip being at 10 a.m. and it’s then that your body could use a caffeine jolt.
