In the age of the Internet most of us are constantly plugged in, suckling on the voluptuous tit of information, filling ourselves sickly until the lessons we have learned overflow and spill out the rim of our skulls. Having the answer to any question merely a Google search away, there really is no reason not to learn a new language or brush up on your art history. The only thing that can truly stifle your ability to learn is yourself. The fear of not being intelligent enough to comprehend these lessons is a false belief. As the great Michelangelo once said, “Genius is eternal patience.”
Under the barrage of advertisements and amid a shit storm of information, the question then becomes not what to learn, but how to learn effectively. How do you cut through all the bullshit and focus on the lessons that truly matter to you? How do you slow down time so you can place each individual puzzle piece in relation to your own life? How can you open your mind like a camera aperture to learn more effectively, and understand concepts more swiftly?
These TED Talks give you a map; they inform you how to use your brain as a compass. They will empower you to travel through the journey of your mind – the destination is your choice.
