In a move that is truly inspirational, 4th Grade school teacher Dwayne Reed created a rap and accompanying music video to welcome his students back to school. The Chicago based teacher wrote lyrics that would not only make his students excited to work hard, but to learn through the power of music.
Due to the very obvious Michael Jackson “I Will Be There” vibe of the rap, Reed has decided not to commercialize his creation. Instead, he is keeping it as a pure tool to inspire and connect with his students.
The track is available for download on Dwayne’s website, where he writes “I’m a 4th grade teacher, but instead of sending the boring old “Welcome to Class” letter, I figured I’d spice it up and send my new 4th graders a song they could jam to.”
I’m sure we can all agree that the man makes elementary school look cool again.
