Taking a road trip can be one of the best travelling experiences you’ll ever have. With a great road trip companion, an epic playlist and the perfect snacks ready to be eaten, the open road can be great. The extra step you need to take to make sure your road trip is even better is making sure you’re prepared. After you’ve packed the necessities for your road trip, you may want to add in these savvy accessories. Once you’ve used these, you’ll start to wonder how you ever travelled without them.
These are the five accessories to take on your next road trip:
1. Phone stand
Whether you’re using your phone as your go-to GPS or your phone holds all your perfect playlists, you’ll need it to be easily accessible during your trip. The first accessory you’ll need is either a magnetic phone mount, which fits into the car’s CD slot, or try out a dashboard cell phone holder, which sticks onto your windshield with a suction cup.
These phone stands will keep you hands-free, will make your phone is easy to view and will ensure that even if your co-pilot falls asleep, you’ll be able to control the phone yourself.
2. Backseat organizer
Your car will probably see some messy days while you’re on the road, but you can try your best to keep it clean and this accessory will help. A backseat organizer can be solely with tons of pockets or an insulated organizer mainly for drinks and snacks.
Whichever you choose, use it to keep your water bottles, toys, books, gadgets, snacks or games organized and easily accessible from the front seat.
3. Rooftop bag
This may be the saving grace of your trip. This is one of the best ways to stay organized and keep junk from building up in the back seat. Purchase one of these rooftop bags to store all of the things you won’t need until your next stop. This will free up space in your car and keep you organized. Tip: You can even buy waterproof versions in case of rain or snow.
4. Portable battery
This accessory can be a road trip saver. A portable battery is a jack of all trades as it can both jump-start your car and charge all of your devices. The battery can work in extreme hot or cold conditions and it’s so small it can fit in your glove compartment or your backseat organizer.
After you bring your car battery to life, you can also recharge your cell phone, tablet or laptop. Tip: It even has a built-in flashlight and can send out a distress signal.
5. Car pillow
Grab a comfy neck pillow so that when it’s your turn to stop driving and take a break, you can be comfortable and get some sleep. There’re tons of different types if you’re picky, including a foam pillow that will form to your body or an inflatable one that will allow for easy packing with minimal space. Road trip naps will never be the same after this purchase.
