Let’s face it, we are not all Bear Grylls. When the wind is as sharp as a knife, not all of us have the skills, or the willpower, to take refuge inside the carcass of some large land mammal. Whether you are vacationing in the backwoods, living life on the road or retiring to the fringes of civilization, modern nomads are often forced to choose between comfort and adventure.
Now, this portable wood-burning stove design is here to revolutionize how you heat yurts, vans, creative studios, sheds, tents and tiny homes.
The idea for creating a highly mobile and affordable heating system came when John Anderson started developing them to be sent out as life saving devices to disaster zones.
After years of delivering innovative humanitarian aid, the UK-based design company Anevay decided to curb a second problem. Anderson felt that people were becoming estranged from nature. Anevay writes, “We don’t want to be part of the throw away consumerism that is rife nowadays.”
The Frontier Plus is a light-weight collapsable stove, that can easily be carried by an average-sized child and easily assembled without the pre-requisite of an engineering degree.
The compact wood-stove features a top plate for cooking multiple dishes at once, a 4-inch diameter flue to control fumes, and an air control on the door to adjust temperature.
Not only is it designed to save lives, it’s designed to last a lifetime.
