The West is full of workaholics, glorifying “business” and moving at a pace that often forgets to slow down now and then to actually live. Photographer Adelina Darvina realized she had allowed her busy schedule to consume her, and she decided it was time to escape. She and four friends decided to leave their routine lives in Latvia and head to a place where the sound of keyboards and ringtones were replaced by the serenity of nature. They hiked a total of 130 km for 7 days on Sweden’s Kungsleden trail. These images not only highlight their journey through Sweden but show us the importance of leaving our busy lives behind every once in a while to embrace a simpler way of life.
