This photographer beautifully captures humans’ complex relationship with nature

“Keep your love of nature, for this is the true way to understand art more and more.” Vincent Van Gogh.
Humans’ relationship with nature has always been a complex one. Some people turn to nature as a source of spirituality rather than sitting in a church pew; others travel the world to immerse themselves in nature, but sometimes its taken for granted. For photographer and videographer Kirk Holmes, photography is a personal project of his, that almost always involves nature.
Through photographs he tries to tell a story, show a new perspective, or educate others by communicating what would normally be three or four shots of a video in the feeling of one photo. Kirk’s photography explores different cultures and represents his own personal relationship with nature and the world through his lens.
