Mr. Yao might just be the world’s…ahem…cheekiest fruit vendor.
The Chinese owner of online fruit shop, Fruit Hunters, has become famous for dressing up peaches in mini panties to sell as novelty items for Qixi – China’s Valentine’s Day.
His fruit shop is located in Nanjing, the capital of province Jiangsu. Apparently, the sexed-up snacks are selling well in nearby cities Yangshan and Wuxi (known for its thriving lingerie industry). They’re coined, “When honey ripens”, and though that doesn’t mean much to a North American, that term is loaded with sexual connotation in China.
If these thong-wearing fruits have just become your favourite, be prepared to pay. It costs about $80 American for a box of nine. But to keep customers peachy-keen, the shop allows custom orders. So buyers can pick their lingerie of choice for these fuzzy, butt-like fruits. According to Jezebel, one customer ordered nine naughty peaches clad in leather studded undies.
The frilly little panties are custom-made by a popular lingerie company. As for the fruits themselves, they’re grown on Mount Yang.
Mr. Yao’s employees dress them all up by hand.
If you’re still fazed by the exorbitant price, it’s probably crossed your mind that creating doll-sized underwear is a relatively simple task. Panty-making really is no secret. But when copy-cat fruit salespeople started picking up on Mr. Yao’s new business endeavor, he got his knickers in a bit of a twist. He applied for a patent on the panty-wearing peaches.
As for what to do with the lacy frillies afterwards, that’s where you’re free to get creative.
Though the peach-panty fruit patent is a bit of a bummer, peaches are not the only sexy fruits. As of reporting time, we’re pretty sure you’re welcome to do what you like with bananas.
