Picasso was known for his influence on the world of art, playing around with new ideas all the time and inventing constructed sculpture, collage and a wide variety of other styles. Picasso’s work includes thousands of pieces and spans over seven decades, up until his death on April 8, 1973 at 91.
Throughout his long career, Picasso often used self-portraits to depict himself in different forms, disguises and incarnations of his autobiographical artistic persona, according to Art and Artists.
This collection of self-portraits depicts the vast changes in his style from time to time, as well as the evolution of his own identity through the ages of 15 to 90.
