1. Erebus Haunted House- Pontiac, Michigan
One time listed as the largest Haunted House by Guinness is an entire block in downtown Pontiac. Four stories of terror stretched out over 100,000 square feet.

To date they say they have 7086 people that have entered but failed to get all the way through.

2. Scared Evil Haunted House- Windsor, Ontario (Canada)
This Haunted House has been on the up and coming list for the last 5 years. This place is HUGE and absolutely terrifying. If you chicken out you won’t get your money back – because according to their FAQs, they did their job.

“Can I get a refund?
-Asif. We are going to scare the hell out of you. Once you pay and you chicken out, we did our job! We will laugh in your face if you ask for a refund.”
“What is the age requirement?
-We aren’t parents. We leave that up to you. We have 7 year olds that have no problem and then have 22 year old university girls crying. You tell us what is age appropriate?
We will tell you that it will be gory, it will be disgusting and it will be scary as hell! Now you decide if you want to ruin your kids childhood. 🙂 Isn’t that partly the fun of raising them?”
3. Statesville Haunted Prison- Crest Hill, Illinois
Producer/Director/Designer: John Laflamboy is the brains behind this magical place. He is as much the Haunt as the monsters inside. His online presence is second to none. Zombie Army Productions puts out videos week to week chronicling the Haunt Industry.
“The Prisoners have rioted, the guards have fled, a darkness has seized control of this Maximum Security Prison and our Warden has opened the gates for visitors. After the prisoners have processed, you will be forced to find your way through 23 maximum security cells and come eye to eye with over 100 criminals that were too evil to die. Statesville Haunted Prison. No one escapes.”
4. The Dent Schoolhouse- Cincinnati, Ohio
What can be creepier than a rundown school as old as the elders in the community? Detention has been FOREVER for the poor souls that crossed the evil teachers. Just ignore that smell coming from the basement. You don’t want to deal with the school board and their constant side stepping to keep the secrets locked up down there.
“The old school house is now said to be haunted with the roaming spirits of the children that were “taken care of” by the Janitor. Rumors are that the Janitor came back after several years of the school house being closed. His body was never found, but his spirit is still said to clean the old building. The spirit is also said to have “taken care of” local trespassers that try sneak a peak at his home in the basement.”
5. Pennhurst Asylum – Spring City, PA
Yes. An asylum. But what makes this next level? It was a real state penitentiary for the criminally insane. Nothing is more scary than knowing that anything you can make up in a haunted house, ACTUALLY DID HAPPEN.
