Away from the grip of oppressive cubicles and 9 to 5 grind of urban society, Angelo and Angela live a simple life. The chose to live deliberately— choosing the food they consume, and the way they educate their children. They live among the rolling hills of Eastern Sicily with their three daughters, Hybia, Lua, and Sirla to live a lifestyle of awareness.
They sustain themselves by organic vegetables grown in their garden and alternative energy harboured by the wind turbines and solar panels that stand in their yard.
The point is to live a self-governing life in harmony with the nature and not estranged. They realize that simply having the means to sustain your life is a privilege.
Photographer Simone Donati, of the collective TerraProject, embedded with the family’s strong devotion and commitment to this project of existence. Simone left the grips of concrete jungle to join the Valley of Angels. Their silent rebellion is fought with minimalism.
