Have you ever wanted to travel the world from your living room? Kien Lam has made this possible with his stunning time-lapse video “Time Is Nothing—A Journey Around the World.”
After quitting his job as a financial strategist in 2009, Lam, a San Francisco native, packed a bag and bought a one-way ticket to London. From there, he embraced his new life as an international photographer by documenting his journey through 17 countries. Between 2010 and 2011, he took 6,237 photos over a course of 343 days of traveling from country to country.
This year, he posted a sequel to his first adventure, “Time and Again—A Journey Around the World Continues,” where he visits 15 new countries over 3 years. He has compressed hours of footage into a 4-minute video that makes you feel like you’re traveling right alongside him.
“At the age of 6, I was determined to become an international ping-pong champion. Somewhere between 2nd grade, getting an Ivy League diploma and a detour as a financial strategist, I wound up as an international photographer instead,” says Lam on his site. “Since then, I have traveled and photographed across 39 countries spanning 6 continents. Sadly, the penguins in Antarctica have not returned my calls for a shoot.”
The avid traveler is also a wedding and event photographer, but his love for exploring and documenting the world around him is his main priority. Take a look at his breathtaking videos below:
