The Golden State is currently under fire. Enduring the most severe drought in over a century, forest fires have broken out across the west coast, charring the once green and blue hillsides into a dusty beige. Driving through Washington, Oregon and California, the air smells of campfire and the legendary mountain ranges hide behind a vale of grey smoke. But if you’re a California local, you may wander right into the middle of battle. Though there is beauty in destruction, the following video is, no less, difficult to watch. Driving from Anderson Springs towards Middletown, this is what it looks like to drive through the heart of a forest fire.
