Rising 20-year-old artist CLO recently took the world by storm with first her single & video titled Blackout in September. Now she’s upping the ante with an electrifying cover of Paranoid by Kanye West. The rising starlet and her dynamic band recorded the cover at Sunset Sound in LA where Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, and many other artists recorded legendary tracks.
On her cover of Kanye West’s 2008 smash from his 808s & Heartbreak album, CLO brings her effortless blend of pop, soul and R&B to one of her favorite songs.
CLO brings a fresh perspective to Paranoid with powerhouse vocals and a strong performance by her break out bandmates. Drummer Jawann Blanchey rocked with Kanye during his Sunday Services. Grammy winner Brandon Ferguson (H.E.R.) shreds guitar licks throughout the powerful cover, and wait until you hear Clark Sims bring true funk with his thumping bass. The band is extremely tight on this track and you can tell they will be a force when they begin touring, which we all hope happens soon.
“Paranoid has always been one of my favorites; the electric drum and the pop synths really move me. We think we have done it proud with a powerful in studio refresh”
CLO is now two for two in a matter of months and she has a lot more planned with additional tracks and imagery coming in the new year. The band also filmed the session which you can check out on YouTube and other outlets.
