Self-determined and self-motivated, these travellers have embodied the words of Henry Miller, that “one’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”
The following is a series of finalists from the annual photography competition hosted by Intrepid Travel, and serves as the ultimate form of visual wanderlust. Each photograph has a sense of life that wildly rushes through its veins, as if each photographer has managed to capture the essence of their external world in combination with the journey that happens within.
Perhaps this is because the enlightened photographer understands that the joy experienced in the moment of taking a photo can never be recovered. He learns to never dwell on repeated experience, but instead will keep venturing on towards the unknown.
