Art as a Weapon is a documentary series examining the power of art in the volatile Southeast Asia state Burma (Myanmar).
Part three, entitled “The Voice of the People”, discusses the ways in which street art and punk rock can act as a megaphone for oppressed segments of society and as an action that follows the Buddhist principles of non-violent protest. This is especially important as Burma attempts to transition from decades of military power to real democracy where the strings are not being pulled from behind the scenes by the junta.
